Sadowy and Allen assigned to Grand Rapids

Forward Dylan Sadowy and defenseman Conor Allen have been assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Griffins have also released defenseman Scott Czarnowczan of his training camp tryout.

Sadowy and Allen will be joining 21 other players in camp for the Griffins.

Sadowy was acquired from the San Jose Sharks by the Red Wings in exchange for a 2017 third round draft pick. He was drafted in the third round by the Sharks in 2014. Last season, Sadowy split time between Saginaw and Barrie of the OHL. He notched 70 points in 64 games.

Conor Allen was signed by the Griffins during the offseason to a 1 year deal. The defenseman recorded 14 points playing 66 games for the Milwaukee Admirals, Binghamton Senators, and the Iowa Wild last season.

The Griffins open the 2016-2017 at the Van Andel Arena by facing the Chicago Wolves on Friday, October 14. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

Fans can purchase tickets by going to or by calling the Van Andel arena box office at 616-774-4585 extension 2.
