It’s Gameday! Red Wings vs. Flyers Preview:

Red Wings (6-3-0) Preview:
Hey Hey Hockeytown, it’s Gameday! The Red Wings travel into Philly to take on the Flyers. However, Philadelphia is a place where the Red Wings haven’t won since June 3rd, 1997 in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. However, they’re not only due for a win in Philadelphia, but they are trying to bounce back from a 0-2 home stand. In those 2 games the Wings looked rather sloppy, something we haven’t seen from them all season long so far. Petr Mrazek (4-3-0) with a .910 SV% will be between the pipes tonight, and the lines are:

Forwards:

  • 14 – 51 – 71
  • 21 – 40 – 8
  • 72 – 43 – 15
  • 20 – 41 – 29

Defense:

  • 65 – 25
  • 52 – 47
  • 2 – 61

Flyers (4-5-1) Preview:

Philadelphia, who is 2-3 in their previous 5 games, is coming off 2 days rest just like Detroit. After getting bounced early by the Capitals in round 1 of last years playoffs, the Flyers are looking once again this year trying to scrape their way into the post-season. Claude Giroux currently leads their team in points with 12 and Michael Neuvirth (2-1-0) with a .861 SV% will be in net tonight for Philly. Their lines are:

Forwards:

  • 10 – 28 – 17
  • 11 – 14 – 93
  • 13 – 78 – 24
  • 76 – 25 – 22

Defense:

  • 53 – 55
  • 9 – 32
  • 3 – 23

Matchup Continued:

Tonight is a big game for both teams, it should be a hard fought battle right down to the very end. The Red Wings are looking to end a 2 game skid after winning 6 straight, and the Flyers are trying to find their way back to the .500 mark. Tonight’s game will be broadcasted on NBC at 8:00 PM.
