Game preview: Wings at Penguins 

The Wings travel to Pittsburgh tonight to face off against the defending Stanley Cup champions. 

Detroit, currently 11-10-3, has earned points in their last five games, putting them at 25 points, and at the edge of a wild card spot. They came off a overtime loss against the Panthers on Thursday. 

Justin Abdelkader joined the long list of injured wings with a MCL sprain and will miss 2-4 weeks. Athanasiou, Howard, Marchenko, Helm, Smith and Bertuzzi are also out with injuries. Howard and Athanasiou both skated today though, which are positive signs. 

Tomas Nosek and Brian Lashoff have gotten called up from the Griffins, but neither are likely to play until tomorrow. 

Zetterberg leads the team with 16 points, followed by Nyquist at 14.

Pittsburgh, 14-7-3, is coming off a huge win against Dallas where they scored six goals. They sit second in the metro, fifth in the league, with 31 points. Crosby has 25 points, Malkin at 23, and a highly offensive roster.
