Griffins gameday report

The Griffins will be on the road this evening as they travel to Rockford to take on the IceHogs. This marks the third time the two teams have squared off this season.

Grand a Rapids has dropped their last two games via shootout. They come in with a record of 11-6-0-2. The Griffins will be without defenseman Brian Lashoff and forward Tomas Nosek for at least tonight’s game. Both were recalled by the Red Wings due to the rash of injuries but are not expected to play. Rockford currently has a record of 7-11-1-2.

Goalie Calvin Heeter is expected to make his Griffins debut. Heeter was recalled by the Griffins after Jared Coreau was summoned by Detroit to fill in for injured Jimmy Howard.

Heeter has a record of 8-0 with a 2.67 goals against average through eight games with the ECHL Toledo Walleye.

Forward Eric Tangradi is expected to return to the Griffins lineup after dealing with a broken finger.

The Griffins are 1-1 against Rockford this season. The IceHogs won the first meeting between the division rivals 2-1 while the Griffins took the second game 3-1. This is the first time Rockford has hosted Grand Rapids this season.

Jared Coreau will be making his NHL debut this evening for the Detroit Red Wings as they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Puck drop for tonights action will begin just after 8 p.m.
