Griffins gameday report

The Griffins will be in Cleveland for another battle with the rival Monsters. The Griffins lost in a shootout the last time the two teams met in Grand Rapids.

The Griffins are coming off of a strong performance in goal by Cal Heeter, who made his Griffins debut in a 4-1 win over the Rockford IceHogs. Heeter stopped 33 or 34 shots in his first AHL game in almost two seasons.

Matt Lorito is continuing to rack up points. The second year pro had another three point night vs the Hogs.

The Monsters enter the game at 8-11-1-1 while the Griffins are one of the top teams in the Western Conference at 12-6-0-2.

Eddie Pasquale will be back in net this evening for Grand Rapids. Zach Nastasiuk and Matt Caito, both on recall from the Toledo Walleye, will both be in the lineup tonight.

Forward Ben Street will not be in the lineup tonight as he and his wife await the arrival of their child.

Tomas Nosek and Brian Lashoff remain with the Detroit Red Wings for the time being.

Eric Tangradi played his first game in nearly four weeks against the IceHogs. He contributed right away picking up two assists.

The Griffins are continuing to be productive on the power play scoring goals on the man advantage in 11 straight games.

Puck drop for tonight’s contest is slated for just after 7 p.m.
