Evgeny Svechnikov opened the scoring for the Griffins in the second period. Chicago came back and scored four unanswered goals to beat the Griffins, 4-1.
The loss snapped the Griffins’ eight game point streak. The Griffins will be back in Chicago to take on the Wolves on Thursday.
The first period ended with both teams failing to score. Svechnikov scored his fourth goal of the season after a backhand effort by Ben Street deflected off of Chicago’s Scooter Vaughan. The rookie gathered the rebound and scored for a Griffins 1-0 advantage.
Chicago evened the score when Bryce Gervais found the empty net for a goal.
The Wolves went ahead in the game when they found themselves on a 3-on-1. Andrew Agozzino scored what turned out to be the game-winner.
The Wolves added two more goals in the third period to win the game 4-1.
Jared Coreau only faced 19 shots and stopped 16.
Chicago finished 0-2 on the power play and the Griffins came up empty on four attempts with the man advantage.
Ben Street has collected at least one assist in six of his last seven games.
