The Griffins will be back in the Windy City to take on the Chicago Wolves in a matinee affair. The Griffins recently dropped a 4-1 decision to the Wolves this past weekend. Evgeny Svechnikov scored the lone goal for Grand Rapids.
After their most recent game, the Griffins are now 14-7-1-2. This was their first regulation loss in nine games.
Colin Campbell and Matt Ford will not be in the lineup. Campbell will be out until mid-January while Ford will be a day-to-day decision.
Jared Coreau will be back in the net for the Griffins. Coreau has started 15 games this season and has a record 9-6 with a .920 save % and a 2.3 goals against average. He has posted one shutout.
First year Griffin Matt Lorito comes in tied for fourth in the AHL in points with 26 (10-16-26). His 10 goals are tied for fifth best in the AHL and his 16 assists are tied for sixth in the league.
The Wolves come into the game with a record of 13-9-2-1 and are currently on a six game point streak.
Brian Lashoff remains on the Red Wings roster for the time being. Alexey Marchenko re-aggravated his shoulder injury and is day-to-day so Lashoff may be with Detroit a little bit longer than expected. Tyler Bertuzzi is still recovering from lower body injury and will most likely be back with the Griffins once he is cleared to play.
Puck drop for today’s game is set for 12 p.m. eastern time.
