Red Wings will be without Vanek and Larkin due to injury

The Red Wings will be without two of their forwards when they face the Bruins. Thomas Vanek (lower body) and Dylan Larkin (upper body) are expected to miss time with injuries sustained in the 1-0 overtime loss to the New York Rangers Sunday afternoon.

Vanek is listed to be Day to day. His injury came in the final seconds of the 1st period after getting hit with a shot from Andreas Athanasiou. Vanek has been a vital part to the Wings this season, tied for team leader in goals at 12 and points at 31.

Larkin is expected to miss two games after sustaining an upper body injury at some point in Sunday’s game. He’s tied with Vanek for team leader in goals at 12.

With the final two games being the last ones before the All Star break, both will have ample amount of time to recover from their injuries.
