The Griffins look to take a 2-0 series lead when they face the Chicago Wolves tonight in their Central Division Final matchup.
Winning the last three regular season games, sweeping the Milwaukee Admirals and knocking off the Wolves on Wednesday, the Griffins have now won seven consecutive games.
Martin Frk made a huge splash in his first game back by scoring a goal :40 seconds into the opening period and assisting on a Matt Ford power play goal. Frk missed the last three games of the regular season as well as the series against Milwaukee. Nosek and Street would add goals lated in the game to give the Griffins a 4-1 win.
The only Chicago goal came from AHL MVP Kenny Agostino.
The Griffins penalty kill unit continues to be a major factor in the post season killing off all four of the Wolves power play attempts.
Grand Rapids continues to have success inside the Allstate arena winning five of the last six matchups including a 4-1 record there during the regular season.
Jared Coreau was solid in net for the Griffins stopping 27 of 28 Chicago shots. He will again get the nod in net this evening for the Griffins.
