On Monday, the Grand Rapids Griffins inked center Mike Borkowski to a 1-year deal.
Borkowski appeared in 51 games last season for the Calder Cup Champions. During his first full professional season, he tallied 5 points (3-2-5) and had a +1 rating.
He played in one post season game for the Griffins. Borkowski also played in six games for the Toledo Walleye, chipping in 9 points (3-6-9) and a +10 rating.
Borkowski made his professional debut last season with the AHL’s Binghamton Senators. He played in 12 games, collecting 3 points (2-1-3).
Before playing pro, the center finished up a four-year collegiate career at Colgate where he was the team captain during his senior year.
The Griffins will be raising their championship banner to open the season on Friday, October 6th when they host the Manitoba Moose.
