The Griffins agreed to a 1-year deal with defenseman Kevin Tansey.
During the 2016-2017, he split time with the Chicago Wolves and the ECHL Missouri Mavericks. In 19 games with the Wolves, Tansey collected three points (1-2-3). He also appeared in two playoff games for Chicago.
Tansey was a 2017 ECHL All Star. For the Mavericks, he played in 44 games leading the defenseman in scoring with 31 points (13-18-31).
Tansey made his AHL debut with the Binghamton Senators during the 2015-2016 season, much like his new teammate Mike Borkowski.
Before turning pro, Tansey spent four years at Clarkson Univeristy. He appeared in 151 games.
